I was born and raised here in Chanute, Kansas and graduated from Chanute High School. After graduating, I moved to Tulsa Oklahoma. In 1995, I moved back to Chanute, Kansas. My wife Erin and I married in 2001. I have two daughters, Kristy and Janet, that both live here in Chanute. Kristy and her husband Jamie have two sons, Hunter and Drake. Janet and her husband Matt have a daughter Kamri and a son Karter. I worked over 30 years in the furniture business. In 2009, I decided to make the career change to be able to spend more time with my family.

In my spare time, I enjoy coaching. I coach for High Octane, my granddaughter Kamri’s travel softball team and assistant with coaching the fast pitch softball team for Chanute High School, along with umpiring softball at the high school and for the ASA association all over the state of Kansas. In 2022, Chanute High School started its first ever bowling teams. I accepted the position as the head coach for the newly formed Unified Bowling Team and for the Chanute High School bowling team.  All of my grandchildren compete and are involved in many sports and school activities. We work very hard to be a part of their lives in any way that we can.

I am the assistant director for the American Legion Riders, post 170 in Chanute. After the first stages were completed with the Chanute Area Veterans Memorial (CAVM), I accepted the task of overseeing the pavers that are installed at the CAVM. I will gladly help answer any questions and assist with finding a placement for pavers for those who are interested in honoring our veterans. I enjoy showing support to our military members and their families. My family and I distribute flags, in four cemeteries, on Memorial Day in honor of our lost miliary members and veterans. When we are not busy at events, I enjoy hunting, fishing, motorcycles, golf, and working in the garden with my wife.

My mission is to take care of our customers using the many companies available to us. I want to make sure that they have the coverage they need and if a customer needs to use their coverage, I want to provide them with the service and assistance they so greatly deserve. We strive to treat each and every customer, as if they were our only customer. Protecting your money is my specialty. We offer many lines of annuities and life insurance to meet your financial needs. These products give you the safety and peace of mind that is sought after in these times of uncertainty in the marketplace.

CSR

Jo Yarnell began working for McCoy Insurance Services, in March 2021. Jo is a licensed property and casualty insurance agent, and our office manager and customer service representative (CSR). We have various companies to choose from and she works very hard to find the right product and coverage to fit each customer’s needs and budget. Being knowledgeable and friendly she strives to uphold customer support and help bring you confidence and comfortable in all your insurance decisions.

Jo and her husband Timothy live in Iola, KS. They have three children together. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends camping, traveling, and visiting new places.
